A short description about us
Hello potential nanny!
We are a Greek Norwegian family who live in Ilion, Athens and run a small family business.
We are currently looking for a kindhearted, dependable, engaged, patient and experienced nanny to assist us in taking care of our coming newborn and our 3 year old toddler.
We are initially looking for someone interested in helping us part-time to begin with, from the end of January. Punctuality if a must and flexibility is a plus because as of March there may be a need for occasional evening shifts.
The salary range will depend on the number of hours, level of experience and relevant education.

Job Responsibilities and tasks
• Organizing creative activities and educational games (e.g. drawing, painting, building, crafting and puppet games)
• Changing diapers and bathing infant and toddler
• Prepare children’s meals according to their specific needs, allergies and taste and help feed them (including bottle-feeding for babies)
• Schedule nap times
• Teach children appropriate social behaviors, such as being respectful to each other and helping out with chores
• Taking children to their scheduled daily and or weekly activities and appointments
• Ensure children’s safety during indoors and outdoors activities
• Take care of children in case of injury or illness
• Work with parents to ensure children’s growth and social development
• Cleaning the children’s bottles, living spaces, assist with putting away baby laundry, packing outing bag for toddler
• Providing an overall environment that enables the children to safely learn and play
• Light housekeeping related to the children (cleaning up after meals, washing bottles, taking out nappies etc.)


Requirements and skills
• Previous experience as a Nanny or Babysitter
• Excellent understanding of child development in different age stages
• Fluent in Greek and good working knowledge of English language (or a Scandinavian language)
• A pleasant and patient personality
• Ability to come up with creative ideas to educate and engage children
• Multitasking skills
• Availability to work during different times as needed. Mostly day time but also occasional evenings and weekends
• A clean driving license
• Minimum education of a High school diploma; further training in child development is a major plus
• Either first aid certification or willingness to learn first aid for children
• Passion for working with children
• Patience and communication skills to successfully interact with the children, understand their needs and make them be receptive to your requests.
• Organization skills to create a daily schedule with parents that encompasses all the activities the parents want their children to attend
• Problem-solving skills to be able to successfully deal with everyday issues that inevitably occur
• Physically fit enough to be able to lift and handle infant and toddler, bags and strollers safely. Able to spend time outdoors in active play with toddler (e.g play ball, run)
