What is Nannuka?

Nannuka is the first online service that helps parents find and review childcare providers and businesses for children’s care, education, creative play and entertainment. By using handy tools, parents can view and compare detailed profiles, collect all the information they need and choose the expert or business they want to get in contact with. It’s easy, quick and safe!

Where is Nannuka available?

Nannuka is available only throughout Greece. Meanwhile, residents that live abroad can now have access to our service and look up for Greek babysitters or teachers willing to work abroad.

I forgot my password. What can I do?

Sign in your profile. Use the “Forgot my password” button and type your e-mail address in the relevant box. Immediately you will receive an email from Nannuka that will guide you on how to reset your password.

I don’t receive emails from Nannuka. Why?

Check your spam e-mail. In case you have signed up using Facebook, check that the e-mail you are using for Nannuka’s notifications is the same you are using to log in your Facebook account. You can also add info@nannuka.com to your contacts so that you receive all the emails in your inbox.

Rewarding points (credits)

What are the credits?

Each time you perform certain actions as a Nannuka member, you earn credits that you can redeem and win real discounts within our online services. (1credit = 0,10€)

How do I redeem the credits?

Credits can be redeemed only within the online services of Nannuka and cannot be exchanged with money. 1 credit = 0,10€. For example, if you have earned 15 credits (=1,5€), you get 1,5€ discount when buying an online service from Nannuka (e.g the monthly premium membership that costs normally 35€, it costs 35-1,5= 33,5€ with your discount)

How can I sign up?

You can sign up in 2 ways:
 1. Sign up using your e-mail and a password. Your email will also be your username.
 2. Sign up using your Facebook or Google account. It is safe. Nannuka respects your privacy and will never post your activity without your permission. Just make sure that the e-mail you are using for logging in your Facebook account is the same with the one you check more often. That way you won’t be missing your notifications from Nannuka!

Why do I have to provide my phone number while signing up?

Your phone number is used to help you communicate with experts of your choice and it’s not visible in public. Υour contact details are only visible to the expert(s) of your choice and only in case you have sent them a request and they have accepted it or in case you have posted a job ad and they have applied to it.

Why is it good to add my Skype account when creating the profile?

It is easy to get the first contact with a childcare provider via Skype, especially if you leave in other city or country. If you don’t have a Skype account, you can download it here.

How do I edit my profile?

Sign in your profile and choose "Edit profile”. When finished, select the icon "Save". In your dashboard you can see the completion percentage of your profile. The higher the percentage, the more highly you will appear in the search results. Remember! Your references and the completion of your calendar influence this percentage in your profile.

Why should I upload a profile photo?

A profile photo makes a childcare provider feel safe. Like parents need to view a photo of the person that will take care of their children, the same way experts need to see the family that they will work for. Sensitive personal data such as your last name and address remain confidential. You can only view the details that are necessary in order to cooperate with the expert.

2. Choosing an expert

What kind of experts can I find in Nannuka?

Nannuka hosts experts’ profiles that want to work with children at your home and companies’ profiles that have an expertise in care, creative play and children’s education and entertainment.
In Nannuka, every need of your child -from day one to 16 years of age- is well taken care of by experts and child care businesses that contribute to the child’s healthy development and education.

How do I know if an expert is available or not?

Experts complete their availability on their personal calendar, where you can check the days and the hours that they are available, before sending them a request.

What are the badges in each expert’s profile?

Each expert earns badges through different actions such as getting a validated profile, completing a personality “Profiler” test, participating in seminars and volunteer events etc. The badges enhance the profiles and distinguish them from the others.

Ηow do I choose experts that own a car and/or a driving license?

Choose the relevant filter on the search bar on the left and make sure you clarify it as well while completing the job request form!

What does the word "Verified profile" on an expert’s profile means?

Nannuka was created by parents for parents. For this reason, we set as a priority the quality, trust and professionalism of the experts hosted. The Nannuka team performs daily background checks through in person or Skype meetings, validating that all information provided in their profile is valid. This indication is not related to the personality of the expert or the professional experience. The personality test “Profiler” has been created to reflect the personality traits.

3. Trust & Safety

How do you verify the personal details of the experts?

Nannuka was created by parents for parents. For this reason, we set as priority the quality, the trust and the professionalism of the experts being hosted. On a monthly basis, we organize meetings, seminars and events where our registered members have the chance to participate. Meanwhile, the experts hosted in Nannuka have the chance to get verified and complete the “Profiler” personality test.

When is a profile “verified”?

Parents’ trust and safety while choosing the ideal expert is our main priority. The process of verifying and validating a profile includes a meeting with a member of our team. That way we confirm that the expert owns valid contact details and is a real person. During that process the expert submits his ID, driving licence, full CV and copies from degrees and other certifications. The verification of the profile is not indicative of one’s personality. For that purpose the experts undergo the “Profiler” personality test.

Where can I see if the expert I chose owns a verified profile?

The experts who own a verified profile are distinguished with a red ribbon on their profile photo that says: “Verified profile”.

What is the “Profiler Personality Test”;

We want to help parents have a better overview of the expert’s profile. The Profiler Traits Personality Questionnaire is the first personality test to be developed exclusively in the Greek language. It has been designed to assess the five major personality dimensions in accordance with the Big-Five theory. By evaluating these five dimensions, we can describe as well as analyze the human personality as it is expressed through the daily interaction of the individual with its milieu (family, work, social activities, etc.) You can filter the results and view only profiles from experts that have completed the Profiler test. Where can I see that the expert I chose has completed the test?

Experts who have successfully passed the personality test Profiler have a special badge in their profile on the right side.

Can I have access to the results of the test?

To access the results of the Profiler personality test you should have the expert’s permission. You can ask for permission within the expert’s profile, by clicking the relevant box on the right. If the expert has agreed, then a summary of his/her results is published on their profile.

I have chosen an expert that has not been verified or completed the test yet. Can i ask him to do so?

Sure! You can ask them to complete the test and verify their profile, by buying a combo package that includes both. We conduct all the necessary procedures so that you can learn more about the professional you will collaborate with. You final choice is yours!

Can I have access to the expert’s references?

Yes, as long as the expert has given you the permission to do so. If an expert has chosen his references to be invisible to public you can ask him for a permission, by clicking the relevant field in his profile.

4Α. Using Nannuka: Find an expert for children at home

How can I browse for experts?

On the homepage, fill in the expertise and the area you are looking for and click 'Search Now!' You can choose profiles from a) people that live in your area, b) people who declared that serve your area, even if they do not live in it or c) people that wish to work abroad. View the detailed profile of each expert, by clicking on his profile picture.

How can I get in contact with professionals?

Find the expert for children you need in 2 easy ways: Browse 1 to 1 and send job requests individually to experts or create an ad.

How can I send job requests to experts?

On the homepage, select the desired expertise and the area you live in. Specify your search with more criteria to suit the needs of your family. Read CVs and reviews from other parents, compare profiles and send contact requests to those experts your are interested in. Once they accept your request, you receive the phone number and contact them.

What is the difference between an ad and a job request?

The job request is sending a job position to an expert individually. The ad is being sent targeted at all experts that meet the criteria you set, so that you get more results that actually interest you. Once an expert applies to your ad, you will get notified by e-mail. In order to “unlock” the contact details of the expert, click on the “Contact details here”.

How do I browse for experts that wish to work abroad?

On the homepage, select 'Nannuka abroad'. You can create your ad and send it targeted to experts who wish to work abroad. You will get notified once a new expert applies interest to your ad. In order to “unlock” the contact details of the expert, click on the “Contact details here”. The first contact can also be by email.

Can I look up for a professional for parties and events (animateurs)?​

In Nannuka, we have created a team of experts specializing in children's parties and events. Having access to a large base of registered experts, you can find animateurs with different skills, suitable for each child's age. All registered experts follow a common pricing policy. You can view the profiles of the animateurs here and send a request for more information by clicking “Book him for your party”. For each party you book, you earn +15 credits.

I do not have time to do research online. Is there another way to use the service?

Why shouldn’t I post my contact details in the job requests or during the post it ads?

For safety reasons. Each contact is being recorded so that you can proceed with the review of the parent. If your contact has not occurred online, its recording is not possible.

Where can I view experts that I have sent them a request in the past? ​

In your profile, choose “My requests” section, where you can view all the requests that have been sent, as well as those of them that have been approved or rejected.

4Β. Using Nannuka: Find a childcare business

How can I search a childcare business for my child?

On the homepage, click on 'Childcare businesses', select the type of childcare business you are looking for and the area you live in. Υou can browse nursery schools, kindergartens, indoor playgrounds, creative play centers etc. You can also specify your search with more criteria that suit the needs of your family. View and compare profiles, as well as the services each business offers and read reviews by other parents.

How do I book a tour with the childcare business?

In the profile of each childcare business, there is a form to submit. Having completed your registration, you can send a request for contact or an appointment for a tour. Once the business receives your request, they will get in contact with you.

What are the extra benefits using the Nannuka service?

Our members enjoy unique benefits, discounts and promotions. You can acquire them by contacting the childcare businesses through our service. You can also attend to events and happenings posted by the business.

5. Reviews

Why should I review an expert?

Your opinion counts! Making a review automatically helps another parent who is currently seeking an expert for his children. A good review helps a family to trust and choose an expert easier. A bad review, helps parents to avoid a possible bad cooperation. For each review you make, you earn +3 credits.

What do the "houses" mean in the expert's profile?

The little houses in each profile refers to the review each expert receives after an interview or a cooperation with a family. It is the average of different ratings. For each review you make, you earn +3 credits.

How can I review an expert that I have worked with?

In your profile, choose “Reviews”. There you will find all the profiles from experts that have accepted your job requests or expressed interest in one of your ads. Indicate the state of your cooperation and review your experience with 'houses'. Add additional comments or observations, if you wish. For each review you make, you earn +3 credits.

My experience with the expert has not been satisfactory and I would like to report it.

Go to the 'Reviews' section in your profile and click "Report". Fill out the form that will appear and tell us about your experience with the expert. Your opinion is important! This report is not visible to other parents, neither to the expert that you report, unless you choose it.

Can I also review childcare businesses?

Of course! Loving your child’s kindergarten? Have you visited a playground and the experience was not so satisfactory? Nannuka gives you the chance to share it with other parents. Search for the childcare business, sign up for Nannuka and tell us about your opinion. For each review you make, you earn +3 credits.

Can an expert review a parent?

We consider the safety of the childcare providers equally important with that of the parents. The whole process of reviewing and rating the parents contributes to better collaborations and increases the security among the experts when it comes to choosing a family.

6. Pay rates

What are the pay rates of the experts?

Each expert sets himself his own pay rates of his services according to his experience and studies. The only exception for that are the experts of the “Party and events” service. That service is accompanied by a specific price list.

How are the experts getting paid?

The pricing policy in each expert’s profile is an indicative pay rate per hour or per month. The payment and the handling of legal procedures relating to the whole work transaction is an exclusive responsibility between the parent and the expert.

Do I have to pay to use Nannuka?

Signing up, browsing, posting an ad is totally free.
For unlimited request sending and unlocking contacts of professionals who have expressed their interest to your job ad, you need to upgrade to Premium. As a Premium member you have access to unique benefits that will make your life with kids easier. For more details, click here.

Is there a charge for communicating with animateurs and entertainment experts in parties and events?

You can send a job request for free. All animateurs follow a common pricing policy, though. If the animateur you have contacted is not available, don’t worry! Our team is big enough. For more information please contact us to 210-3610717 or at info@nannuka.com.

Nannuka hosts the CVs for several categories of experts related to children: baby nurses, mid-wifes, maternity nurses, nannies, teachers for all grades, special education teachers, language tutors, music tutors, sport instructors and even travel nannies or babysitters!

I don’t have much experience or a relevant degree in childcare. Can I sign up?

Of course you can. Nannuka offers you a great chance to build up your childcare skills by attending interactive seminars that we organize and gain experience by working in families.

I own a company relevant to child care. Can I sign up?

Of course! Nannuka helps you promote your business to parents and share your events and promotions. Create your business profile by signing up, here.

2. Create a profile

To what should I pay attention when creating my profile?

Choosing a proper photo and writing adequate information in the “about me” section are two elements that matter the most to parents. Your photo should be personal, professional and clear and your short description should be informative and unique. Statistically, parents devote more time looking for fully completed profiles. It is also important to be honest. Provide only valid information regarding your prior experience with children.

What is my personal calendar? Why is it important?

Your calendar shows your availability for work to parents, who check it before sending you a request. It is important to keep it updated, in order to receive requests that fit your time available.

What do I have to write about the recommended price on my profile?

By “recommended price” we refer to the desired price (by hour or by month) that you would like to receive for your service. You can also add more details on that recommendation in case your pricing varies under specific circumstances. In any case, the salary, the wage per hour as well as the whole employment relationship is parents’ and experts’ total responsibility.

What do the little “houses” above each profile mean?

After booking experts, parents can review the experience they had with them by using red “house signs”. The scale is from 1 (worst) to 5 (best) houses and the number that appears on each profile indicates the average of all the reviews an expert has received.

I am a parent, but I want to also create a profile as an expert. Is this possible?

For the time being, each user in Nannuka can sign up using a unique e-mail. In case you are already signed up in Nannuka as a parent or an expert, you can create a new account by using a different email.

Will Nannuka respect my privacy?

Absolutely. Your sensitive personal information is not public and your phone becomes only visible to the parents you choose to cooperate with.

3. Building up your profile

How can I make my profile more competitive?

Seminars allow you to build up your knowledge and get new educational experience. It also enhances your profile and increases the chances of receiving requests from parents. Why should I post a blog in Nannuka?

Everyday hundreds of parents visit the Nannuka blog in order to get informed and advice around the kids. That way, you get the chance to share your professional point of view on family-related and childcare topics. Contacts us for more.

What are the badges in my profile?

You win badges after you complete some certain actions within the Nannuka Service. Badges allow you to appear higher in the search results and make your profile even more competitive! The badges are visible in your public profile and you can view more about how winning them, here.

4. Job opportunities

How can I discover job opportunities?

There are 2 ways of finding a job in Nannuka:
- You can receive a request from a parent. The parent selects your profile and sends you a job request.
- You can apply to a job ad that has been posted by a parent.

How do I get informed about a new request?

You will receive an SMS on your mobile phone that will inform you of a new request. You can read a detailed description of the job opening on your profile, under the section ‘Requests’. Moreover, an informative email will be sent to you.

What should I do upon receiving a request?

You have a timeframe, set by parents, to come back with an answer. Once you have read the request, it is up to you to decide whether to accept or reject the job, by selecting the button “Accept” or “Reject”.

What happens if I don’t answer to a request at all?

In case you don’t choose to answer in between the timeout period of each request, the request expires and is being rejected automatically. Answering on time benefits your response rate, in your profile.

I accepted a request. How can I communicate with the parents?

The parent’s phone number, name and email have been sent to you automatically via an email, so that you can contact him/her. Didn’t receive it? Check your spam folder or contact us.

Where can I view ads posted by parents?

You can view all the job ads in your profile, in the “My ads” tab. Once an ad that may interest you is being posted, you will get notified by email. You can apply your interest to any job ad meets your profile once we have first verified your profile, by upgrading to PRO.

I have applied to a job ad. Can I speed up the communication with parents?

If you have applied to a job ad and you want to speed up your communication with the potential employer, you can upgrade to Premium and have access to 6 parents’ contacts. Upgrade for more here.

Where can I see all the requests I have received so far?

Using the “Requests” in your profile you can have an overview of all your previous requests, as well as change the status (rearranged appointment, interview) of those you had approved.

Can I participate in events and happenings hosted by Nannuka or other collaborative companies?

Every month, Nannuka participates in events and happenings of companies that collaborates with, as well as non-profit organizations. Educators and animators have the chance to gain experience and an extra revenue.

Can I work in private schools, kindergartens or other companies that are specialized in children?

Sure! Nannuka hosts profiles of institutions and other companies related to childcare, education, babysitting and entertainment of children. Once a childcare business posts a job ad you will get notified by email so that you can apply to it. You can apply to as many job ads you want once we have verified your profile.

5. Reviews

Can I review my experience with a family?

Of course! That way you will help other experts have a better overview of the family that will collaborate with.

My experience with the parent was not satisfying enough, how can I report it to Nannuka?

You can report to Nannuka an unsatisfying experience you had with a parent as long as you have accepted a request from him. You can find the “report” button in your “Requests”, below the photo of each parent's profile.

Where can I find the reviews that families or companies have submitted for me?

Just visit the page “Reviews for me” inside the general “Reviews” page. Remember! You earn +10 credits each time you receive a really positive review from a parent.

Can my profile become invisible or inactive?

For quality assurance purposes we reserve the right to make invisible or inactive the professional profile . This can be done if the profile has received a reasoned report / complaint from a parent or if it has been judged as non-professional or appear contrary to the terms of use or ethics of nannuka.

6. Pricing

Do I have to pay to use Nannuka?

You can sign up and create your profile for free. As a Basic member, your profile appears in the search results where parents can find your CV and send you a job request. By upgrading your profile to Pro, your profile will be verified and you will be able apply to all job ads. If you wish more immediate results, you can upgrade to Premium and have access to parents contacts. For more details, click here.

What kind of companies can sign up in Nannuka?

In Νannuka we host profiles of childcare companies and businesses such as private schools (nursery, primary, high school), kindergartens, indoor playgrounds or creative play centers.

Why is it worth it being a Nannuka member?

Nannuka gives you the chance to create a complete profile of your business and promote it to thousands of parents that are looking for you. Through your profile page you may share your events and offers and communicate with parents that want to get in contact with you.

Can I browse for CVs for people to work for my childcare business?
