There is no more fun and constructive way to learn about ancient games than by creating them from scratch. With simple materials (water, flour, and salt), children learn through play while also being introduced to the culture of Classical Athens. The process begins with the first phase, which is messy play, and continues with the second phase, that of kneading the dough and shaping it into figures-games of antiquity. Then, after they are baked (my responsibility, the child stays away from the oven for safety reasons), we paint them with watercolors. The child's engagement and introduction to this type of creative activity not only helps with fine motor skills but also greatly stimulates their imagination and creative spirit. Finally, their cognitive development is enhanced, as the sense of touch improves their brain function.
