Household chores

• Living Room & Dining Room: daily tidy up and cleansing. Ensuring that things are always in their place. For the children area you can ask them to help put away their toys or supplies.
o Dustin the bookcases: Once every 2 weeks, alternating living room and dining room.
o Cleaning of metal objects: as needed.
• Kitchen: Daily General cleaning.
o Fridge: Clean interior of the Fridge once every two weeks (in preparation for the weekly shopping)
Leftover Food in the fridge should always be stored in taper wares. Same for any produce that comes in bags (like greeted cheese, etc).
o Clean oven – Once a month
o Stove – As needed
o Dishwasher products are stored in the cabinet below the sink next to the dishwasher.

• Bathrooms: daily general cleaning and tidy up.
o Empty bottles: Empty bottles of shampoo, shower soap, etc should be taken away regularly and replaced. Replacements are generally stored in the cabinet in the Master bathroom.
o Toilet paper and other bathroom sanitary products should always be stored in the boxes provided for them or the drawers and ensure that are always available.
o Bathroom Linens:
 Towel change: Every Monday.
 Bathmats: should be changed Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, or as needed.
• Office/Study: Daily cleaning. This should be the first room to do in the morning, including dusting and vacuum, empty ashtrays, etc.
o Work papers: Do not move any paper that is on top of the desks.
o Centre table: should be organized and free of clutter.
o Paper supplies can be stored in the closet between the windows.
• Window Cleansing: By floor, once a month per floor.
• Dusting and vacuuming – Daily as needed. Dusting over doors, and the floor rails once every 2 weeks, including behind the radiators and bedside tables.
• Bedroom Linens:
o Master bedroom: Every Friday.
o Children bedrooms: Every Monday.
o Guest bedroom: As needed.
o Bed-linens:
 Main floor bedrooms (in Laundry room): Ensure that the bedlinens are always organized and matched. If here is a need to change a pillow or something in a room outside of schedule, then the full bed needs to be changed. There should not be unmatched linens in the closet. Each bedroom has assigned 3 sets of bedroom linens. They will be set in the closet spaces as indicated in each shelf. It is your responsibility to keep them that way.
 Guess Bedrooms: They are stored in the linen closet of the yellow room in the guest apartment.
• Bathroom linens:
o Master bathroom linens are stored in the Master bathroom.
o Children's bathroom clothes are stored in the laundry room.
o Bathroom linens for guests are stored in the linen closet in the yellow room in the guest apartment. They are yellow for the yellow room and green for the blue and green room.
• Laundry:
o Laundry products: The washing and dryer products are stored in the laundry room closet on top of the laundry machine. The ironing supplies there too.
o Every-day collection of soiled clothes from the bedrooms and bathrooms. Laundry can be organized depending on amount. Expect the day of laundry to iron the garments and to place them in the corresponding closets.
o Sweater and wool garments: Those should only be washed by hand and dried flat. If cashmere, NEVER wash at home and set aside to send to the dry cleaning.
o Shirts: Marios shirts are to be set aside to be sent to the dry cleaners. It is expected to prepare the bag on Friday so it can be ready to be dropped and the new ones collected.
• Cleaning products:
o The cleaning products closets is in the Laundry room. Expect the closets to be organized and clean so we can have a clear understanding of what needs to be replaced. We should always have some spare stock of the products needed. Please keep a list of all the products that are needed so they can be added to the shopping list.
• Garbage:
o Garbage from the kitchen and bathrooms can be taken out as needed and deposited in the garbage container outside of the house.
• Food storage and pantry management:
o Everything has a set place in the kitchen. We will review them together and it is expected to keep them all organized according to the organization plan we currently have. Any changes should be consulted with me, so we then know where things are.
• Closet management:
o Each kid’s room has their own closet and chest of drawers. Out of season clothes are stored in the basement storage room. It is expected to have the closets in good order and maintained that way. Same with the chest storage.
o Mater room closet: Same as with the kids’ closets.
o Shoes: It is expected that both the family shoes will be cleaned on a regular basis to ensure that they are ready. All cleaning supplies are stored in the laundry room.
o Handbags: Handbags not in use are stored in the centre cabinet of the dressing room.
o Coats: There is a main coat hanging closet in the main floor. All coats are hanged there.
o All sky coats are stored in the storage room closet.
o Toys: Children are expected to put away their toys or arts and crafts supplies after they finish playing. You should ask them to do that if you see things out of place.
• Dinner: You will need to plan the diner menus for the week and discuss them with me every Friday so we can plan the weekly shopping list. You will prepare dinner every night (Monday to Friday).


Other household chores and responsibilities include:
• Planning the weekly diner menus
• Preparing dinner for the family or helping with preparing
• Running errands as requested. Occasionally we may ask you to run an errand for us, such as buy birthday presents for the children’s’ friends, or a quick run to the supermarket…We will give you money to have for those expenses.
• Help compile a groceries shopping list, so if you see that we need something in the house, please write it down in our shopping list for weekly shopping.

Other Considerations
Mobile Phone: We expect that you will have a mobile phone with you, and can reimburse you for any calls you make to us. You are allowed to use the home phone in a reasonable manner.

Internet: You have free access to internet at home. It is wireless around the house.

Holidays: You will be entitled to 20 days paid weeks of holidays every year, pro-rata. Holidays during the year have to be agreed with us in advance and ideally should coincide with the holidays we take as a family, i.e. Easter, or Bank Holidays.

Languages: In our house we usually speak in English although we also try to speak some Spanish. Our home language is English. When we are having dinner all together, we usually speak English. We ask you to speak politely (no swearing or bad words, in Spanish or English) and encourage the use of please and por favor and thank you or gracias. Pavlos and Pia should always ask for permission before they get up from the dinner table or they request any food from the kitchen.

Smoking: The house is non smoking.
