LIVE-IN FULL TIME NANNY (& HOUSEKEEPER) for a family with 3 boys in London NW7
BRIEF:
Experienced, reliable, loving, organised, fast/capable of multitasking and hard-working nanny, confident driver, for a full time in-house role in London, NW7, to care for the family’s children (3 boys aged 9, 6, and 1.5 years) and for their household.
(Golf or BMW3 car for the nanny)
HOURS:
During Weekdays:
7am to 20:00
During Weekends:
9-12 on Saturdays; also
Kitchen end of day tidy-up would be appreciated if nanny not out of town &
occasional (pre-agreed) babysitting
Evening/Night babysitting:
Two nights babysitting per week if necessary (usually this is necessary only when the mother has a work function or is travelling for work)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Full care of the 1yr old (will be 2yrs in Nov2019) (including engaging with him and taking care of his development, deciding and preparing his food, feeding, taking care of his safety and wellbeing, taking to part time nursery, bathing, putting to sleep).
o The 1yr old is at nursery 3 hours per day (9-12).
- Cooking for the children and helping them with breakfast; making sure all three boys have a balanced diet and eat well and healthy.
- Making sure the 6 and 9 yr old boys do their homework and helping them to get it done. Help the 6yr old with reading and online educational games. Encourage them to do additional training exercises (maths, English, on relevant for their age books or papers).
- Making sure the right clothes, and books are taken to school each day based on school schedule and changes communicated by each school. Be on top of other school related admin (e.g. charity day, forest school, class photographs order etc. – provided mum is forwarding the relevant school emails)
- Bath the 1yr old and making sure the boys shower or have a bath/brush teeth before bed
- Do the family laundry and fold and put in wardrobe/drawers
- Ironing (only limited amount of clothes; the rest are fine to be only folded)
- Daily tidying up
- School droppings and pick ups:
o Always for the 1yr old;
o Often for the 6yr old (often done by Dad)
o Currently the 9yr old (who goes to school in central London) is dropped by Mum and picked by a driver; if he moves school closer to home, the nanny may need to do his drop off/pick up.
- Nanny may arrange for online shopping via online app (or send parents the shopping list)
- Capable to help with problems that arise (e.g. call for plumber).
SKILLS:
- Nanny needs to be a capable, reliable, loving and caring for the children especially the 1yr old, experienced with small children and their development, calm, fast/capable of multitasking, clean and tidy, good & healthy food cook (for the children), good user of basic apps on iphone (for communication with parents, schools and shops); Fluent in English; (native speakers of Greek, Hispanic, or French would be a plus).
OTHER INFORMATION:
- Accommodation:
o The current family home has one small ground floor room for the nanny with double bed, good size wardrobe, and a bathroom of mainly own use.
- Mum works long hours and travels (usually in Europe) once or twice a month for 2-3 days at a time.
- Dad works in central London hospital, finishes work latest 6pm and does not travel.
- Both parents are Greek and the children are fully bi-lingual.
- Since the 1yr old is at nursery 3 or more hours per day (and once he gets home 1yr old would usually sleep for 2 hours), there is enough time for the nanny/housekeeper for the house cleaning and tidying up.
o However, if the nanny is strong in children development and education (which results in no or less need for tutoring support), the family is happy to employ a cleaner for once a week for deeper cleaning.
o When Mum travels, nanny might need to take care of the 1yr old overnight, in case he needs to settle back to sleep and/or have milk. (additional remuneration to be agreed)
SALARY & BENEFITS:
- 350 GBP per week.
- 20 days paid holidays (plus the bank holidays) at times that suit the family (during August and Christmas / Easter)
- Nanny to travel to Greece in July for holidays (mostly in Antiparos Greece) or other holidays with the family – IF she wants; Or possibility to take unpaid leave.
