What is Nannuka?

Nannuka is an online platform that connects families with pre-checked childcare professionals. By using handy tools, parents can view, compare and review detailed profiles, collect all the information they need and choose the childcarer they want to get in contact with. It’s easy, quick and safe!

Where is Nannuka available?

Nannuka is available in London, while currently working on its expansion throughout the UK. Nannuka is also available in Italy and Greece.

I forgot my password. What can I do?

Sign in your profile. Use the “Forgot my password” button and type your email address in the relevant box. Immediately you will receive an email from Nannuka that will guide you to reset your password.

I don’t receive emails from Nannuka. Why?

Check your spam e-mail. In case you have signed up using Facebook, check that the e-mail you are using for Nannuka’s notifications is the same you are using to log in your Facebook account. You can also add hello@nannuka.com to your contacts so that you receive all the emails in your inbox.

Rewarding points (credits)

What are credits?

Each time you perform certain actions as a Nannuka member, you earn credits you can redeem and win real discounts within our online services. (1credit = 0,10€)

How do I redeem credits?

Credits can be redeemed only within the online services of Nannuka and cannot be exchanged with money. 1 credit = 0,10€. For example, if you have earned 15 credits (=1,5€), you get 1,5€ discount when buying an online Nannuka service (e.g the monthly premium membership that costs normally 35€, it costs 35-1,5= 33,5€ with your discount). Your credits offer you real discounts within the online services of Nannuka. (e.g Premium packages)

How can I sign up?

You can sign up in 2 ways:
 1. Sign up using your e-mail and a password. Your email will also be your username.
 2. Sign up using your Facebook or Google account. It is safe. Nannuka respects your privacy and will never post your activity without your permission. Just make sure that the e-mail you are using for logging in your Facebook account is the same with the one you check more often. That way you won’t be missing your notifications from Nannuka!

Why do I have to provide my phone number while signing up?

Your phone number is requested to help you communicate with childcarers of your choice and is not visible online in public. Υour contact details are only visible to the childcare professionals you have handpicked and only in case you have sent them a request and they have accepted it or in case you have posted a job and they have applied to it.

Why is it good to add my Skype account when creating my profile?

It is easy to have your first contact with a childcare provider via Skype, especially if you live in other city or country. If you don’t have an account, you can download Skype today.

How do I edit my profile?

Sign in your profile and choose "Edit profile”. Select the icon "Save". In your dashboard you can see the completion percentage of your profile. The higher the percentage, the more highly you will appear in the search results. Remember! The addition of references and the completion of your calendar contribute to a higher overall percentage.

Why should I upload a profile photo?

A profile photo makes a childcare provider feel safe. As parents need to view a photo of the professional that will take care of their children, professionals need to see the family that they will work for, too. Sensitive personal data such as your last name and address remain confidential. One can only view the details that are necessary in order to cooperate with the childcarer.

What kind of childcare professionals can I find in Nannuka?

Nannuka hosts childcarers’ profiles that have an expertise in care, creative play, children’s education and entertainment and are ready to offer their services to your family’s needs.
In Nannuka, every need of your child -from day one to 16 years of age- is well taken care of by childcare providers that are qualified to see to the child’s healthy development and education.

How do I know if a childcarer is available or not?

Childcare providers fill in their availability status on their personal calendar, where you can check the days and the hours that they are available, before sending them a request.

What are the badges in each childcarer’s profile?

Each childcarer earns badges through different actions such as getting a validated profile, completing a personality “Profiler” test, participating in seminars and volunteer events, etc. The badges enhance the profiles and distinguish them from the others.

Ηow do I choose childcare providers that own a car and/or a driving license?

Choose the relevant filter on the search bar on the left and make sure you clarify it when completing the job request form!

What does the word "Verified profile" on a childcarer’s profile mean?

Nannuka was created by parents for parents. For this reason, we prioritize quality, trust and the professionalism of the childcare professionals being hosted. Nannuka’s team performs daily background checks in person or via Skype meetings, verifying all information provided in their profile is valid. This indication is not related to the personality of the childcarer or her/his professional experience.

3. Trust & Safety

How do you verify the personal details of the childcarers?

Nannuka was created by parents for parents. For this reason, we prioritize quality, trust and the professionalism of the professionals being hosted. On a monthly basis, we organize meetings, seminars and events where our registered members have the chance to participate.

When is a profile “verified”?

Parents prefer to communicate with childcarers who have a “verified” profile. They feel safer as we confirm that the professional holds valid contact details and is a real person. The process of verifying and validating a profile includes a meeting with a member of our team. During that process, the childcare provider’s submits her/his ID, driving license, full CV and copies from degrees and other certifications. You can find more and book an appointment for verification today.

Where can I see if the childcarer I chose holds a verified profile?

The childcare providers who hold a verified profile are distinguished from the other profiles by a red ribbon on their profile photo that says: “Verified profile”.

I have chosen a childcarer that has not been verified yet. Can i ask him to do so?

Sure! You can ask them to verify their profile, by upgrading your subscription to Premium. We conduct all the necessary procedures so that you can learn more about the professional you will collaborate with. Your final choice is yours!

Can I have access to the expert’s references?

Yes, as long as the childcare professional has given you permission to do so. If the professional has chosen her/his references to be invisible for the public you can ask her/him for permission, by clicking the relevant field in her/his profile.

4Α. Using Nannuka: Find a childcarer for children at home

How can I browse for childcarers?

On the homepage, fill in the expertise and the region you are looking for and click 'Search Now!' You can choose profiles from a) professionals that live in your region, b) professionals who have chosen to serve your region, even if they do not live in it or c) professionals that wish to work abroad. View each childcarer’s detailed profile by clicking on their profile picture.

How can I get in contact with professionals?

Find the childcare provider you need in 2 easy ways: Browse 1 to 1 and send job requests individually to professionals or post a job.

How can I send job requests to childcare professionals?

On the homepage, select the desired expertise and the region you live in. Narrow your search with more criteria to focus on the needs of your family. Read CVs and reviews from other parents, compare profiles and send contact requests to the professionals you are interested in. Once they accept your request, you receive their phone number and may contact them.

What is the difference between a job post and a job request?

The job request is asking a childcarer you have handpicked after browsing their profiles if she/he can work for you. The job post is describing your needs beforehand in an ad and expecting professionals to apply to it if they believe they meet your criteria. Once an expert applies to your job post, you get notified by e-mail. In order to “unlock” her/his contact details, click on the “Contact details here”.

How do I browse for childcarers that wish to work abroad?

Browse profiles of childcarers who wish to work abroad by selecting the filter on the search page. Alternatively, you can create your job post and send it targeted to professionals who wish to work abroad. You will get notified every time a childcarer applies. In order to “unlock” the contact details of the childcarer, click on the “Contact details here”.

I do not have time to do research online. Is there another way to use the service?

Why shouldn’t I post my contact details in the job requests or during the post it ads?

For safety reasons. Each contact is being recorded so that you can proceed with the review of the professional. If your contact has not occurred online, its recording is not possible.

Where can I view childcarers that I have sent them a request in the past?​

In your profile, choose “My requests” section, where you can view all the requests that have been sent, as well as those of them that have been approved or rejected.

5. Reviews

Why should I review a childcarer?

Your opinion counts! Making a review automatically helps another parent who is currently seeking a childcare professional for his children. A good review helps a family to trust and choose a professional easier. A bad review helps parents to avoid an eventually unlucky experience. For each review you make, you earn +3 credits.

What do the "houses" mean in the childcarer’s profile?

The little houses in each profile refer to the review the childcarer receives after an interview or a working experience with a family. It is the average of different ratings. For each review you make, you earn +3 credits.

How can I review a childcarer I have worked with?

In your profile, choose “Reviews”. There you will find all the profiles that have accepted your job requests or applied to your job posts. Indicate the status of your experience with the childcarer and review what you made of it with 'houses'. If you wish, add additional comments or observations. For every review you make, you earn +3 credits.

My experience with the childcarer has not been satisfactory and I would like to report it.

Go to the 'Reviews' section in your profile and click "Report". Fill out the form that will appear and share with us your experience with the professional. Your opinion is important! This report is not visible to other parents, neither to the childcarer you report, unless you choose it.

Can a childcarer review a parent?

We consider the safety of the childcare providers equally important to that of parents. The whole process of reviewing and rating parents contributes to safer work experiences and increases trust among professionals when it comes to choosing a family.

6. Pay rates

What are childcarers’ pay rates?

Every childcare professional sets her/his own payrates for their services according to experience, qualifications and extra skills.

How are the childcarers getting paid?

The pricing policy in each professional’s profile is an indicative pay rate per hour or per month. The payment and the handling of legal procedures relating to the whole work transaction is an exclusive responsibility between families and childcarers.

Do I have to pay to use Nannuka?

Signing up, browsing, posting a job is totally free.
To send job requests limitlessly and to unlock the contact details of childcarers who have applied to your job post, you need to upgrade to Premium. As a Premium member you have access to unique benefits that will make your life with kids easier. Upgrade your profile today .

What are the ways of payments in Nannuka?

All payment ways in Nannuka are safe. Choose the one you prefer and enjoy Nannuka's benefits right away!

How can I cancel my subscription?

You may cancel your subscription anytime 3 days before its renewal. On your dashboard under the subscription section select “deactivate your subscription”. You will receive an email confirming that the renewal of your subscription has been canceled.

More and more families are looking for childcarers online. In Nannuka, you can create your own personal profile page for free and present your CV online to parents. The more detailed it is, the more families will be able to see it, increasing thus, the chances of receiving a job request from them. You can also apply to job posts, once we have verified your profile.

Why do I have to provide my phone number while signing up?

Your phone number is used to help you communicate with parents of your choice and is not visible in public. Your contact details are only of use to the parents you have accepted a job request or to those that have unlocked your phone number from your application to their job post.

Why is it good to add my Skype account when creating the profile?

If you are looking for a job abroad, a first contact with the family via Skype comes in handier. If you don’t have a Skype account, you can download it here.

Who can sign up for Nannuka?

Nannuka hosts the CVs for several categories of childcare providers: baby nurses, mid-wives, maternity nurses, nannies, babysitters, afterschool-babysitters, teachers of all grades, special education teachers, language tutors, music tutors, sport instructors and even travel nannies or babysitters!

I don’t have much experience or a relevant degree in childcare. Can I sign up?

Of course you can. Nannuka offers you a great chance to build up your childcare skills by attending interactive seminars and gain experience by working in families that don’t consider childcare background or experience as prerequisites.

2. Create a profile

What should I pay attention to when creating my profile?

Choosing a proper photo and writing adequate information in the “about me” section are two elements that matter the most to parents. Your photo should be personal, professional and clear and your short description should be informative and unique. Statistically, parents devote more time looking for fully completed profiles. It is also important to be honest. Provide only valid information regarding your prior experience with children.

What is my personal calendar? Why is it important?

our calendar shows your availability for work to parents, who always advise it before sending you a request. It is important to keep it updated, in order to receive requests that fit your availability.

What do I have to fill in as recommended pay rate on my profile?

By “recommended pay rate” we refer to the desired price (by hour or by month) that you would like to receive for your service. You can also add more details on that recommendation in case your pricing varies under specific circumstances. In any case, your pay rate, the wage per hour as well as the whole employment relationship is parents’ and experts’ total responsibility.

What do the little “houses” above each profile mean?

After booking childcarers, parents can review the experience they had with them by using red “house signs”. The scale is from 1 (worst) to 5 (best) houses and the number that appears on each profile indicates the average of all the reviews the childcare provider has received.

I am a parent, but I also want to create a profile as a “childcarer”. Is this possible?

For the time being, each user in Nannuka can sign up using a unique e-mail. In case you are already signed up in Nannuka as a parent or a childcarer, you can create a new account by using a different email.

Will Nannuka safeguard my privacy?

Absolutely. Your sensitive personal information is not public and your phone number and any other contact details become visible only to parents you choose to work with.

3. Building up your profile

How can I make my profile more competitive?

There is no doubt that your profile interests a family out there! Why not bring out the best of it and make it more popular? We have created tools that will help you appear higher in the search results page and you will have increased chances to receive a request sooner! Seminars allow you to build up your knowledge and get new educational experience. It also enhances your profile and increases the chances of receiving requests from parents. Besides that, you can also collect credits and redeem them as a discount within your packages.

Why should I participate in volunteer events in Nannuka?

Apart from living new experiences while practicing your knowledge in real-time cases you also get new career opportunities. What is more you earn credits and a special badge on your profile.

Why should I post a blog in Nannuka?

Daily, hundreds of parents visit Nannuka blog to get informed about everything concerning raising kids and caring for them. By sharing your article with them, you have the opportunity to highlight your professional point of view on family-related and childcare topics and make a difference. Contacts us for more.

4. Job opportunities

How can I discover job opportunities?

There are 2 ways of finding a job in Nannuka:
- You can receive a request from a parent. The parent selects your profile and sends you a job request.
- You can apply to a job post, edited by the parent.

How do I get informed about a new request?

You will receive an SMS on your mobile phone that will inform you of a new request. You can read a detailed description of the job opening on your profile, under the section ‘Requests’. Moreover, an informative email will be sent to you.

What should I do after I receive a job request?

You have a timeframe, set by parents, to come back with an answer. Once you have read the request, it is up to you to decide whether to accept or reject the job, by selecting the button “Accept” or “Reject”.

What happens if I don’t answer to the job request at all?

In case you fail to answer in between the timeout period of each request, the request expires and is being automatically rejected. Bear in mind that answering within the given time, either positively or negatively, benefits your response rate, in your profile.

I accepted a request. How can I communicate with the parents?

The family’s phone number, name and email have been sent to you automatically via an email, so that you can contact them. Didn’t receive it? Check your spam folder or contact us.

Where can I view ads posted by parents?

You can view all job posts in your profile, in the “My job posts” tab. Once a job that may interest you is being posted, you will get notified by email. You can apply your interest to any job that meets your needs once we have first verified your profile, by upgrading to PRO.

I have applied to a job post. Can I speed up the communication with parents?

If you have applied to a job post and you want to speed up your communication with the potential employer and not wait until they reach you, why don’t you upgrade to Premium and have access to 6 parents’ contacts (phone numbers)? Upgrade to Premium today.

Where can I see all the requests I have received so far?

By clicking on “Requests” in your profile you can have an overview of all your previous requests, as well as change the status (rearranged appointment, interview) of those you have already approved.

Can I participate in events and happenings hosted by Nannuka or other collaborative companies?

Nannuka participates in events and happenings in collaboration with other companies, as well as non-profit organizations. Educators and animators have the chance to gain experience and extra revenue.

5. Reviews

Can I review my experience with a family?

Of course! In this way, you are helping your fellow childcarers have a better overview of the family they consider working for.

My experience with the family was not satisfactory, can I report it?

You can report to Nannuka the unsatisfying experience you had with a family as long as you have accepted a request from them. You can find the “report” button in your “Requests”, below the photo of each parent's profile.

Where can I find the reviews families have submitted for me?

Just visit the page “Reviews for me” inside the general “Reviews” page. Remember! You earn +10 credits each time you receive a really positive review from a parent.

Can my profile become invisible or inactive?

For quality assurance purposes we reserve the right to make a childcarer’s profile invisible or inactive. This can be done if the profile has received a reasoned report / complaint from a parent, if it has been judged as non-professional or appear contrary to the terms of use or ethics of Nannuka.

6. Pricing

Do I have to pay to use Nannuka?

You can sign up and create your profile for free. As a Basic member, your profile appears in the search results where parents can find your CV and send you a job request. By upgrading your profile to Pro, your profile will be verified and you will be able apply to all job ads. If you wish more immediate results, you can upgrade to Premium and have access to parents’ contacts (phone numbers). For more details, click here.

What are childcarers’ pay rates?

Each childcare professional sets her/his own pay rates, according to experience, studies and additional skills. The only exception for that are the professionals of the “Party and events” service. That service is accompanied by a specific price list.
